National Writing Project (abstract)

Dear Dominic:

Thanks again for your willingness to present at this year's NWP Annual Meeting, November 20-22, 2008. Thursday Site development workshops and Friday breakout sessions will be held at the Grand Hyatt in San Antonio and promise to be as engaging and informative as ever.

We have finalized our schedule of workshops, but we need some information from you—no later than September 9—in order to make sure you have the things you need to lead a great workshop. You are receiving this message as the workshop contact person, so please check with all other presenters in the workshop(s) below before submitting your response. Please go to the link(s) below and provide the following information:
• Confirm presenters
• Indicate what kind of audio/visual equipment you will need for your session (see info below)

AV Equipment
NWP will not be able to provide data projectors for use in sessions. If you would like to bring your own data projector for use during your workshop, please request a "data projector support package" when selecting audio visual equipment from the pull down list. This package will include a screen, cord, and cart. Plan to set up your personal laptop and data projector for the workshop. In addition, consider bringing speakers if you plan to include audio.

No Internet connectivity will be provided.

All breakout rooms will be supplied with flip charts and markers.

We will not be able to accommodate last-minute requests for audio visual equipment on-site at the meeting. Please let us know if your equipment needs change prior to the meeting.

Uploading Files
Also, beginning November 4—if you are a presenter at a Thursday workshop—you will be able to communicate with participants who have registered for your workshop and to upload documents prior to your session. As you and other presenters in your session prepare handouts, please read the NWP's guidelines for preparing handouts:

Planning Your Session
As always, we encourage workshop leaders to plan with other presenters for an interactive session. Based on feedback from those attending the 2007 Annual Meeting, participants highly value sessions that are interactive and build in time for discussion and writing.
